Conquer the Challenge: Medieval Rush Returns Stronger Than Ever for Its 15th Year
Organized by Tanner Schweitzer, this one-of-a-kind event has evolved into a powerful tradition where both kids and adults test their endurance, resilience, and courage. Set for June 13, this year’s Medieval Rush promises a brand-new course, designed to challenge returning participants and thrill newcomers alike.
A Scenic, Grit-Filled Adventure
Taking place across the rugged prairie landscape near Bismarck State College, the course delivers not only intensity but stunning natural beauty. Participants will traverse terrain overlooking the iconic Missouri River, adding a breathtaking backdrop to an already unforgettable experience.
Whether you’re 5 or 75, there’s a place for you here. The event welcomes all ages and fitness levels, offering both competitive and casual options. Choose your challenge—or your pace.
Obstacle-Packed Action for All Levels
With approximately 20 obstacles scattered throughout the course, participants can expect mud pits, rope climbs, and endurance-testing challenges that demand both physical and mental toughness. One standout feature this year is the multi-level wall climb, strategically placed with the old train bridge over the river in the background. Professional photographers will be on-site capturing these epic moments—perfect for sharing your victory.
Not feeling competitive? No problem. Walk, hike, or jog the course at your own speed and still soak in the excitement.
Courses Designed for Every Age Kids Course (Ages 8–13): 1-mile adventure packed with fun and achievable challenges Adult Course (Ages 14+): 3.2-mile test of endurance, strength, and perseverance
According to Schweitzer, the impact goes far beyond the finish line. Kids learn firsthand how hard work leads to real accomplishment. Even better, they unplug from screens and reconnect—with nature, with peers, and with their own potential.
More Than a Race—A Purpose
This family-friendly event isn’t just about personal victory. A portion of proceeds supports the Dakota Children’s Advocacy Center, helping children in need across the region. It’s fitness with purpose—every कदम makes a difference.
