BEK TV Helps Lift Local Nonprofits: Giving Hearts Day Interviews to Air During Sports

Every February, thousands of people across North Dakota and northwest Minnesota come together to support the causes that strengthen our communities. This year is no different. Giving Hearts Day, hosted by the Dakota Medical Foundation, returns this year on February 12, and BEK TV is proud to partner with this powerful day of giving for the third year in a row.

Our role is simple: amplify the voices of local nonprofits so more people hear their mission and learn how to support them. Between now and February 12, BEK TV will be airing short interviews with five Giving Hearts Day nonprofits during our sports broadcasts. These features will rotate at random, allowing viewers to meet some of the organizations that are changing lives.

Giving Hearts Day continues to be one of the region’s most impactful fundraising efforts. Last year alone, donors contributed $31.6 million to 641 charities, supported by more than 40,000 generous individuals. Since the event began in 2008, more than $226 million has been raised for local organizations, proof that when our communities come together, amazing things happen.

One of BEK Communications Cooperative’s core values is to strive to be good citizens of the communities we live and work in. Partnering with Giving Hearts Day reflects that commitment and gives us a meaningful way to help strengthen the towns we serve.

BEK Communications Cooperative is honored to help shine a light on nonprofits doing meaningful work in the areas we serve. We believe that strong communities aren’t built from the outside, they grow from within, thanks to everyday people supporting missions that matter.
