Vivek Ramaswamy Under Microscope: Presidential Hopeful's Vision for America

From his policy stances to his vision for America, this episode promises to give listeners an in-depth perspective, all from a staunchly conservative lens. Join Trent and Rebecca as they delve into the intricacies of Ramaswamy's candidacy and what it means for the future of conservative politics in America.

More on Vivek Ramasway:

Vivek Ramaswamy, born on August 9, 1985, in Cincinnati, Ohio, is known for his entrepreneurial spirit and recent venture into political activism. The son of Indian immigrants from Kerala, Ramaswamy's mother worked as a geriatric psychiatrist, and his father was an engineer and patent lawyer at General Electric. Raised in Ohio, he was a nationally ranked junior tennis player and valedictorian of his Jesuit high-school class. His educational journey took him from public schools through eighth grade to graduating summa cum laude in biology from Harvard University and earning a law degree from Yale University, where he was awarded a post-graduate fellowship by the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans.

Ramaswamy's professional background includes working at the hedge fund QVT Financial from 2007 to 2014, where he co-managed the biotech portfolio. In 2014, he founded Roivant Sciences, a biotechnology firm that focused on purchasing patents for undeveloped drugs and bringing them to market. Roivant Sciences was incorporated in Bermuda and received significant start-up capital from QVT and other investors. Despite facing criticism for the failure of one of its potential Alzheimer's treatments, Ramaswamy maintained his stake through Roivant, which protected him from the company's losses.

In 2020, as CEO of Roivant Sciences, Ramaswamy supported the establishment of Roivant Social Ventures (RSV), a nonprofit arm of the company aimed at promoting health equity and diversity within the biopharma and biotech industries, despite his presidential campaign's stance against diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) initiatives.

He also co-founded Chapter Medicare, a Medicare navigation platform, and served on the Ohio COVID-19 Response Team. In early 2022, he co-founded Strive Asset Management, which branded itself as "anti-woke" and "anti-ESG," promising to offer investment funds without pushing political agendas.
