RDFC Grants Help Strengthen Rural Communities
The RDFC Community Improvement Fund awards grants ranging from $500 to $3,000 for projects in rural communities with populations of 10,000 or fewer. The program is directed by rural electric and telecommunications cooperatives across North Dakota, including BEK Communications Cooperative, with a mission of helping rural communities grow, improve, and thrive.
Funding is available for a wide variety of community-focused needs. Community-owned businesses such as grocery stores, cafes, and motels may qualify for assistance. Grants may also support important community facilities including hospitals, clinics, fire districts, ambulance services, and community centers. In addition, youth programs, school-related projects, workforce development efforts, and other community-based initiatives are encouraged to apply.
These grants are designed to invest in the future of rural North Dakota by helping communities maintain essential services, support local businesses, and create opportunities for residents. Whether it is improving a gathering space, helping launch a local project, or supporting a service that benefits the community, the RDFC program exists to strengthen the places rural families call home.
Applications are administered directly through local RDFC member cooperatives, including rural telephone and electric providers like BEK Communications Cooperative. Because deadlines and funding availability may vary, interested applicants should contact BEK Communications Cooperative for more information about local application details and submission timelines.
At BEK Communications Cooperative, community has always been at the heart of what we do. We are proud to partner with organizations like RDFC to help rural communities continue to grow, succeed, and remain strong for generations to come.
