Determined to live out his cowboy dream, George took on work for various ranchers along the Little Missouri River. The couple acquired land in the Badlands, about 25 miles north of Medora, where they poured their sweat and dedication into creating something lasting. Through years of hard work, they transformed the land into what is now known as the 10 Section Little Missouri Cattle Ranch. Their success didn’t come easy—harsh winters, unpredictable weather, and the challenges of managing cattle in such rugged country tested their resolve. But the West rewards those with courage and perseverance, and George and Irene embodied both.
