Dakota's Legacy: Horses, History and High Achievers
On another note, Brekka Liepke, a young equestrian, started making her mark this year at NDSF.
Over at Mt. Rushmore, Wild Bill introduced Jeff Gould, a guy who can spin a yarn about America like no other. Jeff's tales highlight the sacrifices made and the blessings counted in the history of the US. If you ever get a chance, catch him at the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame Fundraiser in Valley City; it's worth it.
Then there's Alan Woodbury, a true Dakota success story. After graduating and diving into the feed business with Peavey Co., he went on to establish Woody’s Feed and Grain. Under his leadership, it wasn't long before his horse feed was in demand across top-tier racetracks all over the US. Hats off to Alan, the NDCHF's chosen honoree this week. And speaking of young talent, shoutout to Cannin Carson from Grassy Butte. This 14-year-old high school freshman is turning heads in the rodeo world, snagging the title of World Champion heeler in his division. It's clear that in Dakota, the traditions are alive, and the future is bright!
