Border Security, Immigration Challenges, and Shareholder Power in Corporate America
First, Ammon Blair, Senior Fellow at the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Secure & Sovereign Nation Initiative and former U.S. Border Patrol agent, shared eye-opening firsthand experiences from the Rio Grande Valley. Blair explained how current border policies are straining Texas law enforcement, communities, and state resources. He warned that open borders have allowed a sharp rise in migrants from Venezuela, including violent criminals released from prisons amid political chaos, and said drug cartels are now exploiting weaknesses even at the northern border with Canada. Later, the focus shifted to corporate governance with Stefan Padfield of the Free Enterprise Project at the National Center for Public Policy Research. Padfield highlighted major victories where his group negotiated settlements with giants like Prudential, Eli Lilly, Exxon, Capital One, and AT&T. He argued these wins push companies back toward political neutrality and protect shareholders from what he calls a “woke takeover” of corporate culture. Padfield also made a bold case for shareholder-led “women’s rights audits,” saying corporations must respect biological sex in their policies or face legal and financial risks.
This episode delivered strong insights into how policy choices at the border and in boardrooms affect our economy, safety, and the future of America.
