A New Era for North Dakota History and Honoring Our Heroes

First, Gary welcomes Bill Peterson, Director of the North Dakota Historical Society. Bill shares exciting details about the brand-new 70,000 square foot museum project currently underway. This state-of-the-art facility will feature a dedicated military gallery to honor the brave men and women who have served in our Armed Forces. The museum will also expand educational outreach, exhibit rare artifacts, and provide a modern, immersive experience for visitors of all ages. Bill emphasizes the importance of preserving North Dakota’s unique history and how this new museum will tell our state’s story with pride and purpose.

Later in the program, Gary is joined by Brigadier General Jackie Huber, speaking on behalf of the North Dakota National Guard and as a board member for the North Dakota National Guard Foundation. Brig. Gen. Huber highlights the foundation’s mission to support service members and their families. From emergency financial aid to scholarship opportunities, the foundation plays a vital role in taking care of the people who take care of us.

Together, the conversation connects North Dakota’s past, present, and future—demonstrating how deeply the state values military service, historical preservation, and community resilience. Whether it’s building a museum that teaches the next generation or standing by our soldiers and their families, this episode is a reminder that North Dakota honors its roots and its heroes with unwavering commitment.
